The Eternal City

Rome, the Eternal City, is the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio region. It is the famed city of the Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. Rome, as centre of power, culture and religion, has exerted a huge influence over the world. The historic centre of the city in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rome has rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of the world's famous, beautiful and inspiring capitals.

I visited Italy in February 2014. It was cold and dark during winter, but I was lucky to visit Rome during good weather. Rome, full with wonderful palaces, millennium old churches, grand roman ruins, monuments and statues. I'd suggest you to buy a Roma pass, the card that offers you transport and museums free of charge as well as reductions for exhibitions and touristic services. Moreover, with this pass, you can skip long queue in museums or archeological sites and this will save you a lot of time.
